Release notes 3.0
Platform upgrades
This release focused on technology upgrades and architecture developments to improve the platform’s security and performance.
.NET 8
For the release of nXP 2024.3.0.0, the .NET version currently used in the ebankIT platform has been updated to .NET 8. The external dependencies have also been updated to .NET 8. Moving to the latest long-term supported version improves the platform security.
The Authentication Server, which is currently responsible for managing authentication and authorisation of the platform, has also been updated to .NET 8.
Architecture
This release includes several architectural refactors required by the modular architecture of the .NET Core.
- User management
In this release, we have completed a new phase of modularisation and refactoring of authentication services, including omnichannel contract settings.
- Template processor
The template processor service has been migrated to a modular architecture.
- Outbound campaign workers
Refactor of the campaign workers for sending outbound campaigns.
New features
Release nXP 2024.3.0.0 focuses on supporting the Corporate segments and highlights a new feature that allows FI customers to manage their omnichannel contract.
- Self-service contract management - Owners of corporate contracts with many users can use the Internet Banking (IB) to edit their omnichannel contract without the Financial Institution (FI) involvement. They can manage their contract users, limits, and approval rules. Depending on the contract complexity and the customer segment, different edition modes (Advanced or Standard) are available to the owners. This feature reduces FI staff workload and improves the corporate contract efficiency. From this release on, the profile and permission group for the new delegate will not be defined in the Add delegate option. The new delegate must be activated in the contract management once created. This allows different permissions to be defined for different contract owners. There is a new option to view and edit the delegate details and a new area to list inactive users in the Manage user access feature.
- Share favourites and account groups - These features, designed for Corporate contracts, enable Internet and Mobile Banking users to share their favourite operations and account groups with other users of the same contract who can copy the favourites or the groups to their list. Account group sharing is only available for Corporate group contracts.
- BFO and CC transaction flow - Projects can create transaction orchestrations in Branch Front-office (BFO) and Contact Centre (CC) from this release onwards. The ebankIT schedule engine is also available for the transactions in these channels.
- Dashboard widgets - The dashboard widgets have been improved, and new widgets have been released.
- My accounts widget - Previously, this widget only displayed information about the user’s main or first accounts. It now has new functionalities and a revamped layout:
- Reviewed UI (colours, styles and position of content).
- Setting to display more than one account.
- Setting to display a second balance.
- Option to select the time range of the graphic with the balances. Available for IB only.
- My credit cards widget - A new widget focused on credit card information shows users how much they have spent on their cards and how much is left until they reach their credit limit.
- My products widget - A new widget with a carousel of all the user's products. Project teams can define the number of products to be displayed. As in the products list, each product card has shortcuts for features related to the product. The setting to display a second balance is also available for this widget.
- Favourites widget - This widget has been updated with a new setting that allows projects to configure their UI, choosing between a list or card view.
- Scheduled operation widget - It is now possible to view the details of a scheduling operation directly from the dashboard.
- Scheduled operations - New options in the Scheduled operations list allow IB and MB users to edit a scheduled operation or skip the next occurrence of a recurring schedule. The account filter in the filters area has been updated to display all product types (not only chequing accounts).
- Notification history - This new option is available in the IB, MB, and BFO/CC, with the list of notifications sent to the customer.
- UI themes - To improve UI personalisation, MB applications can now create different visual themes depending on the customer segment. Also, a new option in the MB allows users to switch between dark and light modes (previously, users could only select this in the start wizard – Android only – or on the device).
- Campaigns - The campaign module on nXP is now complete, and it is possible to create outbound campaigns in EMS.
- Outbound campaigns - Ability to create outbound campaigns for a list of target audiences. Campaigns can be configured for channels such as CC, email, push notification, secure message, or SMS. Different marketing lists with the audiences to be reached can be uploaded to and managed in the EMS. A new option in the CC, Marketing activities, allows you to manage the outbound campaigns created for the CC.
- Deep linking - We have reviewed the deep linking capabilities of the campaigns. When creating a campaign, a CTA (call-to-action button) can be configured to redirect users to a specific feature in IB or MB, or to a product subscription option.
- Manage privacy consents - This feature is now available in the MB applications. The option displays the privacy consents that were previously presented to the user for acceptance. For optional consents, the users can change their answers.
- Database compression - A new feature for the EMS allows you to view the database tables that can be compressed as well as how much compression can be applied to each one. It is possible to generate the SQL scripts to compress the tables.
- Authentication and security - Several improvements and new features enhanced the authentication and security options of the ebankIT platform:
- Password validations - A new validation ensures that passwords cannot contain the username. Also, in MB, a new UI component shows feedback about completing the requirements necessary for defining a password.
- Mask account numbers - Setting to allow the masking of account numbers throughout the IB and MB applications.
- Concurrent session control - This release ensures support for single-session configuration on the ebankIT platform’s internal (staff-facing) channels. Projects can define whether they want a single session for all internal channels or per channel.
- Forgotten PIN code - Local settings are now retained when you create a new PIN code. This includes settings related to biometrics and other personal information. Previously, they were cleared when a new PIN was set.
Other improvements
Other developments done in this release include:
- Activity log:
- The actions performed in the Monitoring application are now also logged in the Activity log (EMS). The same applies to the actions performed in the feature Administration > Database in the EMS.
- Contract management:
- Setting to update the contract automatically with new products after the product subscription process. A warning will be displayed to the user when this setting is off, and the product is not automatically added to the contract.
- BFO and CC improvements:
- Option to allow the inclusion of other product types in the contracts. This option is only available for Individual and Corporate contracts.
- Single-user contracts should not be able to create or duplicate permission groups.
- It is now possible to create contracts for clients without accounts.
- It is now possible to delete the default signature rule.
- Accounts without specific permissions will get the "Create and approve" permission.
- If the contract is changed from multi-user to single-user, a new alert will be issued, warning that the contract trustees will be removed.
- Menu types:
- IB now supports different menu types so projects can select their preferred UI. Projects can choose between a vertical and a horizontal menu and define whether they are expandable.
- My products:
- The product list's UI has been reworked for MB. The card layout for each product has been redesigned with rearranged content, increased corner radius, new colours and colour mapping for each product type.
- Operation history:
- In MB, the operation history now displays the channel where the operation was performed.
- The UI of the operation history was reviewed for MB. The history timeline has been redesigned with increased corner radius, new colours and colour mapping for each operation status.
- A new setting in the Security Centre controls the visibility of the Authorisations section in the Operation Details pop-up. For the Individuals segment, the authoriser information is suppressed by default (set to false) but setting it to true will display this information. For the Corporate and Corporate groups segments, this setting is enabled by default (set to true).
- Pending operations:
- The account filter in the filters area has been updated to display all product types (not only chequing accounts).
- The UI has been reviewed for MB. The list now has tabs to switch between the Your authorisation, Third-party, and Not executed lists, making list selection more intuitive. The feedback component has also been updated to highlight its contents.
- Secure messages:
- The UI of the secure messages options has been redesigned for MB. The list now has tabs to change between the Received, Sent, or Archived lists, making message selection more intuitive. The details of a message and its header have been redesigned.
- SMS generation:
- SMS short code now depends on the message type.
- Transfer to my accounts:
- We have reviewed the account selector’s UI and the confirmation and conclusion steps for MB. These changes will affect project transactions using the OOTB UI.
- The account selector follows the changes for the product cards component used in the My Products list.
- The feedback messages on the confirmation and conclusion screens have new colours to highlight their contents.
- The confirmation screen has a background for each label to increase readability, and the conclusion screen has an illustration and an informative message. Note that projects can define a different illustration and message per transaction.
- The conclusion screen also emphasises the option to save a transaction as a favourite.
- User roles on BFO and CC:
- Users with more than one role can switch between roles. When the user changes roles, all the open interactions (client sessions) are closed. A warning informs the user. The roles are configurable in EMS.
- OOTB new role for users who can only view information. Users with this role cannot perform transactions and can only start client sessions in "View client information" mode.
- View client info:
- This option, available in the BFO and CC, allows users to start a view-only session without authenticating the client. It is now available to Corporate groups. Also, the menus now have an icon that acts as a visual aid to identify the options that are only available after client authentication.

Solved support tickets
The following table describes the fixes and improvements suggested to the Product team.
Internal issue | Application | Title | Summary |
|---|---|---|---|
457847 | EMS | Support - Database Partitioning | Identified bug in the [CLR_EbankitAgentOperations].[DBA].[usp_ConfigureTablePartition] stored procedure when changing partitions configurations. |
466678 | EMS | Campaigns | Primary Campaigns - unable to create multiple | A problem occurred when attempting to set up multiple primary campaigns, each in a different language. The system returned an error message stating that it was impossible to set up two primary campaigns simultaneously. |
472753 | MW | DBA | Support | Error purging orphaned sessions | A job that was running successfully recently failed during an expired session deletion step. An SQL error caused the failure, which occurred because a user transaction involving memory-optimized tables or natively compiled modules attempted to access multiple databases. |
480328 | MW | DBA | Support | Partition Sliding fails and do not recover | The partition sliding mechanism failed during the switch partition process, and subsequent runs also failed because the partition in the historical table was not empty. A TRY CATCH block handled error 4904 and, if necessary, executed a DELETE operation to move data from the current table to the historical table. Without this recovery mechanism, the job would remain stuck until someone manually intervened with the delete command. |
497422 | MB (Android) | Release mode | The attempt to generate the application in the release mode has failed. |
497399 | MB (Android) | Account groups - Error message | Customisation of a generic error message, via argument. |
498846; 498849; 498864 | MB (Android and iOS); AuthServer | Back to login button on IDS | When attempting to recover credentials with IDS disabled, clicking the Back button resulted in an error. In addition, the page did not close or confirm the request. |
503569 | MB (iOS) | OnboardingStartViewController title and back button | The OnboardingStartViewController did not display a title, back or close buttons. Attempts to add these manually via an extension were unsuccessful. |
503566 | MB (iOS) | Generic error page does not show feedbacks | When trying to perform an Internal Transfer transaction when the user did not have more than one account, the MW sent a feedback message instead of showing the feedback area. |
517448 | MB (Android) | Camera permissions | The camera pop-up failed to appear when attempting to open the camera. |
508051 | MB (iOS) | Incorrect IdToken and id_token variable names | The https://uat-mcb-auth.ebankit.com/connect/token (IdToken) and https://uat-mcb-auth.ebankit.com/api/login/validate (id_token) returned the Id token using different named variables, which break the authentication flow. |
512843 | MB (iOS) | Send message was disabled | The Send message icon was mistakenly hidden when a type with subtypes was selected on NewMessageViewController. |
512848 | MB (iOS) | Product Status | The account's states were not being reflected in the accounts list and on the account's selectors. |
512848 | MB (iOS) | Account's states | The account's states were not being reflected in the accounts list and on the account's selectors. |
516696 | MB (Android) | Product Status | An enum did not allow further customisation. The project team can now create new statuses. |
515285 | IB | ‘Skip Next’ Option not working after applying filter | In Scheduled Operations, the 'Skip Next' option for recurring scheduled tasks did not work after applying filters. |
517979 | MB (iOS) | Accessibility on products carrousel | When accessibility dynamic types were enabled, the product carousel did not adjust as expected. This caused one of the two balances displayed to be hidden and the status flag to overlap with the product name. |
516529 | MB (Android) | App crash during photo capture | The app crashed when a user attempted to take a profile picture. |
516823 | MB (iOS) | Operation History filters | An error occurred when attempting to set a larger value in the "Minimum Amount" text field and applying the changes. |
521091 | MB (Android) | Change PIN | The application crashed on the change PIN fragment, likely due to the use of ProGuard. |
